Slow down. Reconnect. Come home to yourself
Experience one-to-one equine wellbeing sessions on a peaceful Fleurieu Peninsula farm, where horses, nature and mindfulness create space for reflection, healing and personal growth.
Welcome. I’m so glad you’re here.
At Equine Essence, I believe healing doesn't always begin with words. Sometimes it begins with a deep breath, the quiet presence of a horse, and the space to simply be. Set on a peaceful Fleurieu Peninsula farm, every one-to-one session offers an opportunity to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and experience the grounding power of horses, nature and mindfulness.
Hi, I’m Sarah
Equine Essence was born from two lifelong passions - horses and helping people reconnect with themselves.
My one-to-one sessions combine the calming presence of horses, nature and mindfulness to create a gentle space to slow down, reconnect and simply be.
I'm a qualified yoga teacher, Reiki Master, personal trainer, and equine wellbeing practitioner. I'm also currently studying a Diploma of Counselling, deepening my understanding of how to support people with compassion and care.

Meet the Horses
Every horse at Equine Essence has their own unique story, personality and way of connecting with people.
Monty and Bree are the gentle guides you'll most often meet during your experience. For those who choose to explore further, our three free-roaming horses offer a rare opportunity to witness horses living naturally in the landscape they call home.
Rather than asking anything of them, we allow the horses to choose how they interact. Their honesty, curiosity and quiet wisdom often become some of the most meaningful moments of a visit.
Monty
Our gentle giant who reminds us that strength can be soft.
Monty is an 18-year-old Thoroughbred whose calm, kind nature has touched the lives of countless people. Before joining our family, he was trialled as a racehorse before finding his true calling as a riding school horse and trail horse. Today, Monty spends his days enjoying life on the farm, where his gentle presence helps people slow down, breathe and reconnect. Whether you're quietly grooming him, standing beside him or simply sharing space together, he has a remarkable way of helping people feel safe, grounded and at ease. He doesn't ask anything of you—he simply offers his quiet presence, and often, that's exactly what's needed.
Bree
Small in size. Big in heart.
Bree is a six-year-old Shetland pony whose quiet confidence has a way of helping people slow down. Curious, gentle and wonderfully expressive, she often chooses to approach people in her own time, creating moments that feel calm, genuine and unforgettable. Despite her small size, Bree has a remarkable presence. She reminds us that trust can't be rushed and that meaningful connection often begins in stillness. Whether she's standing quietly beside you, asking for a gentle scratch or simply sharing the space, Bree has a beautiful way of making people feel accepted exactly as they are.
Frankie
The horse who chooses calm connection.
Frankie is one of our free-roaming horses whose calm, thoughtful nature invites people to slow down. He values peaceful interactions and often takes his time before choosing whether to approach. When Frankie does choose to connect, it's quiet, genuine and entirely on his terms. Watching Frankie move peacefully through the landscape is a gentle reminder that meaningful connection can't be rushed. Whether he wanders closer or simply grazes nearby, Frankie shows us that trust grows through patience, respect and choice.
Daisy
Always the first to say hello.
Daisy is one of the friendliest members of our herd and is often the very first to wander over and greet visitors—usually encouraging the rest of the herd to follow behind her. Affectionate and wonderfully people-focused, she has never met a scratch she didn't love. Her warm, welcoming nature helps people feel comfortable from the very beginning. Daisy reminds us that sometimes the simplest acts of connection—a gentle nuzzle, a curious glance or a shared quiet moment—can make us feel seen, accepted and at home. I think "Always the first to say hello." suits her personality perfectly. It paints a picture before people even start reading, and it gives Daisy her own memorable role in the herd.
